The POULTRY HOUSES
The raising of poultry is a traditional part of small farm life.
Poultry (properly prepared) is one of the healthier meats and is environmentally sound.
Traditionally geese and ducks have been used to remove insects from crops
and to weed... although presently this is done only with "field crops"
which are not for human consumption. In the process the fowl are fed and
their droppings are used by the soil to become an additional enrichment.
As a side note, geese become very territorial and will proctect their home
as fiercely as a guard dog. Their powerful wings can break a man's arm.
Our ramblings, as we learn about the raising of fowl, will be distilled here
