Pray the Rosary !!!

Virtual Roasary (free)
For those not familiar, this is a really cool program that allows you to pray the scriptural rosary on your computer.  Better for your spiritual life than freecell or solitaire!
"Formerly referred to as Virtual Rosary 4.0, it has finally been released and the name has been changed to 2000 to reflect the Jubilee Year. This is worth the download, as it contains a lot of new features. Virtual Rosary now has support for image modules (same as verse modules, only they change the pictures), optional background music, a neat daily reminder, interface enhancements, and numerous other goodies. New modules are being programmed"

The Rosary is Indulgenced!

tiny rose
Plenary indulgences can be received once a day, either for yourself or for a soul in purgatory. You need to perform one of the following to gain a plenary indulgence:

1. Recitation of the Rosary in common (not by yourself)
"Recitation of the Marian Rosary (at least five decades without interruption) in a church; or with members of the family, in a religious community, or a pious association. Devout meditation on the mysteries is necessary. In public recitation, the mysteries must be announced."
2. Recitation of the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament (even by yourself)
3. Make the Way of the Cross
4. Read the Bible for one-half hour
5. Make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament for one-half hour.

Make sure to review About Indulgences so you understand the conditions necessary :)

"Most bead shops carry Rosary parts and materials. I make Rosaries from African trade beads and semi-precious stone beads (e.g. amethyst, citrine, garnet, etc.) I buy these beads in strings and then I design a combination and string it on quality beading thread (doubled and waxed). Instead of using metal links, I use smaller beads as "spacing" between the larger stone beads for the prayers. I also like to pray the prayers as I string the beads."

"We also make rosaries from old jewelry, using th smaller beads for separating the prayers and such, we just break down the old necklaces and such and redo them as a rosary! its fun to look for them at flea markets, yard sales and thrift shops. We have made some nice rosaries!"

For descriptions of rosaries, EWTN's library online has a great 47 page description of how to make and pray many different types of rosaries and chaplets. They can be found at Cindy Smith's List of Rosaries. Very informative.

The Monks of Adoration now have a live camera in their chapel, directed towards their tabernacle. 24 hours a day you can stop by and sit with our Eucharistic Lord. The only time it's not running is from 5:00 to 5:30pm Eastern Standard time (-5 GMT). Then, their other camera is on so that you may pray the rosary with them live.

"I enjoy making cord rosaries. They can be done "anywhere" and need little supplies. There is a very good online site with instructions .. Rosary Workshop." Follow the link for SERVICE, Mission Rosaries.
